When you need to divide coil material into different widths that support your specific customer request, Copper and Brass Sales has slitting capabilities for all our coil product offerings. We take great care with your order to ensure we deliver the product you requested and without any quality errors. You’ll note we take the following steps to ensure a high-quality product:
- Decoiling: Once loaded on the decoiler, the coil unwinds and is fed into the slitting machine, which has several adjustment settings to ensure smooth material feeding.
- Slitting Machine: The material is fed through the machine, which typically has multiple circular blades that allow for the master coil to be cut into narrower strips.
- Edge Trimming: While being fed through the machine, the edges of the strips are trimmed to ensure they are straight and are devoid of any defects.
- Recoiling: After being slit, the new, narrow strips are recoiled onto separate mandrels. The tension and winding parameters can be manipulated to produce a well-ordered and tightly wound new coil.
Whether you need slit aluminum, copper and copper alloys, stainless steel or carbon steel, Copper and Brass Sales is your best source for coil processing and slitting. Our facilities across the US house multiple state of the art slitting lines to process both ferrous and nonferrous metals. Our vast array of slitting equipment allows us to process material from .005” gauge up through .195”, and up to 72” wide coils depending on the material.
We also offer value-add coil processing services such as annealing, re-rolling, traverse winding and edge-conditioning, giving users in the electrical, medical, aerospace and automotive industries the products they need, delivered to their door by our robust logistics network.
