Preparing for the Next 25 Yearsby Layne Petrowski
As Copper and Brass Sales celebrates its 95th anniversary, we’re not just reflecting on where we’ve been. We’re focused on where the industry is headed and how we’re preparing to meet what comes next.
The North American metals and manufacturing landscape continues to evolve, and with it, the expectations of the customers and industries we serve. Needs are becoming more complex, more time-sensitive, and more strategic. In response, we are intentionally structuring our business to meet that shift by building the capabilities, systems, and partnerships required to support what’s ahead.
The next 25 years of Copper and Brass Sales are being built today through the culture, investments, and customer-focused strategies taking shape across our organization.
Adapting to a Changing Industry
Manufacturing is steadily returning to North America. Electrification is reshaping demand for copper components across transportation and power distribution systems. At the same time, data centers and digital infrastructure continue to expand at a rapid pace. Together, these shifts are redefining what customers need and how quickly those needs must be met.
Copper and Brass Sales continues to evolve alongside these changes. Continued investment in our North American footprint ensures that materials, processing capabilities, and technical expertise are available where demand is growing. By strengthening our regional presence, we reinforce supply chains, shorten lead times, and improve responsiveness as customer requirements change. This year alone, we opened a new location in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, and we are in the process of launching at least three additional facilities in regions where customers are asking for greater support.
At the same time, we are expanding our capabilities to support emerging applications, from red metal strip for electrical systems to fabricated components and custom kitting that reduce complexity on the shop floor. Across every offering, our focus remains the same: delivering the right solutions, accurately and reliably, exactly when customers need them.
Supporting Customers Beyond Materials
Manufacturers today are navigating labor shortages, capacity constraints, and pressure to accelerate production timelines. In this environment, dependable material supply is only part of the equation. Manufacturers need partners who can remove friction from the production process itself.
To meet that need, Copper and Brass Sales has expanded its manufacturing and processing capabilities to deliver production-ready components directly to customer facilities. Services such as CNC machining, waterjet cutting, and fabrication allow customers to streamline operations, reduce internal workload, minimize secondary processing, and focus skilled labor where it adds the greatest value.
The launch of our Manufacturing Services division in 2024, along with the acquisition of Cobotix, reflects a deliberate shift toward deeper operational support. By integrating automation, fabrication, and advanced processing under one umbrella, we are enabling customers to move faster, operate more efficiently, and stay competitive in an increasingly demanding market.
A Culture Built for What’s Next
Our culture remains one of our strongest competitive advantages and one of the most important drivers of our future. Across the organization, employees are empowered to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and bring forward ideas that strengthen how we operate and enhance how we serve our customers.
That mindset fuels our growth strategy, supporting both organic expansion and strategic investment. We are intentionally aligning our footprint and capabilities with markets and regions where long-term demand matches our expertise and value proposition.
For us, growth is not defined by size alone. It means being present where customers need support, backed by the right infrastructure, services, and technical expertise to help them succeed. Whether through new locations, expanded offerings, or deeper integration into customer operations, our approach remains grounded in partnership, proximity, and sustainable value creation.
Looking Toward the Next Century
The years ahead will be shaped by the strength of our culture, our commitment to customer-driven innovation, and our continued investment in the opportunities that matter most. Together, these priorities position Copper and Brass Sales to deliver meaningful impact in an industry defined by constant evolution.
At the center of that future are our people. Their expertise, initiative, dedication, and mindset of continuous improvement give us the agility to adapt and the confidence to lead through change.
The next 25 years will bring new challenges and transformation across the metals and manufacturing landscape. We remain focused on helping our customers accelerate performance and increase value, while building a company designed not only to respond to what comes next, but to help shape it.
